A Child's Definition Of Love

When I was student teaching, I made my students write poems about what love meant to them. It was fourth grade, so I wasn't sure what answers I would get. All the answers were so pure, also deep at the same time. One little girl's poem caught my eye, so I wanted to share it with you.

1 2 3 This Is What Love Means To Me

When you have love, you have the best gift on earth,

When you have love, life is perfect beautiful and special,

Love is like a horse beautiful and free,

Like The Beatles say, love is all you need!

This particular poem she wrote struck me, because she described love, and put in a musical reference to elaborate. I hope you all like it! :)

awww, I like that you get children to do these sorts of activities. You'd be surprised at what they write. Done that, and will keep these things as long as I live
